About IsSame.com

IsSame.com helps answer a question that recommendation engines dodge: are these two things actually the same kind of experience? Not “similar genre” or “same director”—we mean the stuff that determines whether you’ll feel the same way at the end.

We publish editorial comparisons that weigh structure, theme, pacing, and tone. Each one is written to help you decide what to try next with fewer surprises—and without the breathless hype of a marketing blurb.

What we cover

Movies are live first because structured metadata (release dates, credits, genre tags) and clear reference points make comparisons easier to verify and more useful to readers. We source factual data from TMDB’s API, then layer on editorial analysis that no metadata field can capture.

We are building toward broader “is it the same?” coverage—books, television, games, and more. Each new vertical will launch once we are confident the comparison format adds genuine value, not just volume.

Our approach

Comparisons on IsSame.com are never auto-generated and published sight-unseen. Software may assist with initial similarity signals, but every article is edited for clarity, accuracy, and fairness. We explain why two titles overlap (or don’t) so you can make your own call.
